most amazing dragon ever.
Red let out a roar and breathed a puff of fire straight up into the
sky. Drake watched in disbelief as the fireball dissipated in the air.
 Red, you re showing off now. Rider giggled and tapped her
chest.  Come on, Drake. We better get moving.
Drake ran to them and started to pet Red gingerly. She lowered
herself to the ground so he could climb on. He hopped up and
positioned himself at the base of her neck. Rider handed up a sack full
of food for Drake to hold, climbed up in front of him, and nestled
himself close to Drake.
 Are you ready? Rider asked.
 I think so. Is there anything I can hold onto?
 You can hold onto me. I ll never let anything happen to you.
Rider urged Red upward, and she took off, soaring into the clear
sky. Never had Drake known such serenity and belonging, yet a touch
of fear gripped him when he peered at the ground below. Rider
laughed when Drake held him tighter.  You re going to squish our
sandwiches.
Drake joined in the laughter, loving every moment of their time
together. With every bad thing he d been through over the years, he
decided to let go of the hurt and anger. His new life had finally begun.
